More about Ellen…
Born in the Netherlands, more specifically in the Polders, Ellen was surrounded half of the year by fields full of colorful flowers. She only realised how much she loved them when she left her country. and did not see them anymore.
When she moves to France in 1987, nothing prepares her to become a mobile art photographer.
For several years, she works in the printing and publishing business before finally embarking in her photography journey.
It is in 2018 that Ellen starts online mobile photography courses initially just to improve her personal photography.
Along the way, she discovers macro photography which immediately triggers her curiosity.
She buys a first macro lens for mobile to get started and after a few shots, she knows she will be completely hooked.
Her everlasting love for flowers makes her favorite subject quite obvious.
Within a capture, Ellen likes the unreal in the real. As well as the textures and colors that blur elegantly almost like a painting…
During the first lockdown in 2020, macro photography constitutes her escape route.
Spending most of her time in the garden shooting gives her understanding of the light and improves the quality of her captures drastically. Simultaneously she continues to develop her skills with editing courses enabling the final touch which turns a photo into a fine art.
Ellen’s unique artistic signature is born that she shared through social media since.
After reaching a large audience on Instagram, she is now travelling from the virtual world to the physical world through dedicated exhibitions at prestigious places.
